William Sugg & Co. Ltd are experts in all things heritage lighting. We've been in business since 1837 and are the original surviving gas lighting company in the UK. Our fantastic team is made up of highly skilled, passionate staff who have many years' experience in the lighting industry, each of whom bring specialist skills to our important work. Lucy Bubb
Lucy joined the business in 2022 to lead it into its next phase. She is ultimately responsible for everything we do and the overall running of day to day operations, staffing, strategy and sales. Lucy brings with her a wealth of experience having run her own successful Architectural Lighting Design and AV Company for 20 years! Lucy’s husband Iain will also be involved in the business in his capacity as a Supply Chain and Manufacturing Process consultant so the family ethos of the company, that has been a cornerstone for generations, continues. In her spare time Lucy is Chief Operating Officer for four children and a gaggle of pets including a dog, cat and five chickens. She loves to play sport, and is currently renovating her family home in Sussex.

Neil Stanton
Key Accounts
With a background in Hospitality and Leisure, Neil brings with him a wealth of knowledge in commercial and operational management. He’s a Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt) qualified professional and holds a degree in Business. Neil is experienced in commercial and residential property development, and is currently studying for the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines. Outside of work, Neil competes in long and middle distance Triathlon and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

Maggie Hinton
Office Manager
Maggie is our Office Manager and responsible for all office administration and supports the workshop with logistics and spare parts orders for our customers. In her spare time Maggie is an exceptional baker, having baked an incredible cake for her daughter’s recent wedding.

Neal Kriegler
Electrical Engineer
Neal is our Electrical Engineer with many years of experience. He is responsible for all electrical testing and compliance as well as electrical assembly and testing. Neal is also involved in product development to allow us to provide our clients with the best solutions. Neal is a creative person and loves making anything with wood.

Paul Lane
Workshop Supervisor
Paul is our Workshop Supervisor and has been a gas engineer for over 20 years with a huge amount of experience in his craft. In his spare time Paul is a lover of music and also plays the guitar.

Alan Jordan
Coppersmith
Alan is our Coppersmith. He’s incredibly skilled and spends much of his time manufacturing and handcrafting various elements of light fittings for our customers. Alan is very creative and enjoys visiting auctions to bid on old items to restore; from carriage lanterns, water pumps, furniture and much more. He’s even made rings out of old coins. Alan is also a big West Ham fan!

Peter Farrell
Sheet Metal Technician
Peter is our Sheet Metal Technician and a critical member of the team, working on the important and intricate detail of our works. Part of his responsibility is making the components for our customer’s light fittings. Peter owns a Honda CB1000 super 4 and 1942 Harley which he is restoring. He has played the guitar for 52 years and played for Mother Theresa at school when he was 14!

Jim Edwards
Projects & Operations
Meet Jim Edwards, who supports Sales and New Projects here at Sugg. Starting his career in music production in London, Jim soon transitioned to building work before becoming a qualified electrician with a passion for lighting design. Now a valued member of our team, Jim brings a wealth of experience to every project. When he’s not working, Jim can be found spending time with his three children, restoring old motorbikes, or enjoying everything and anything musical!

Toni Farrell
Assembly Worker
Toni works in the workshop with the rest of the manufacturing team. Toni plays an important part in the factory, making sure all parts of the light fittings are assembled correctly, to a high standard, and on time. In her spare time Toni loves long country walks, horse riding and playing darts.

Sam Carpenter
Engineering & Manufacturing Apprentice
Sam is part of our workshop team in our Horsham factory. He contributes to all aspects of Sugg’s heritage lighting manufacturing, refurbishment and renovation projects. In his spare time Sam is a keen history enthusiast and enjoys assembling and painting models. Sam leads an active lifestyle and takes enjoys maintaining his physical fitness. On weekends, he loves to go hiking.

Kamilla Baranska
Engineering and Manufacturing Apprentice
Kamilla recently joined us as an apprentice in the workshop. She works alongside the rest of the team at our Horsham factory and is learning the crafts and techniques involved in everything we do. In her spare time, Kamilla is very active! She enjoys travelling, fashion, long walks, swimming and spending time with her family.
